Learn To Skate

The CanSkate and Pre-Canskate (formerly Preschool) Learn to Skate programs teach skating fundamentals for use by recreational, hockey, ringette or figure skaters. Only skaters and coaches are allowed on the ice. All skaters must wear a CSA approved hockey/skating helmet and gloves.
Two sessions are offered:
- Fall: September 8th, 2014 – December 18th, 2014
- Winter: January 5th, 2015 – March 26th, 2015
Star Skate Figure Skate

STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system. Each session includes group instruction with a professional coach plus free time for practice. Private lessons are recommended and may be arranged with individual coaches.read more
PPSC hosts youth dances for Grades 4 – 8 once per month. Dances are held Friday night from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Scugog Community Centre in Port Perry. Admission is $8 for regular Dance, $10 for Video Dance and a Snack Bar is also available.
The 2014/2015 dance dates are:

June 12th, 2015
Parents can earn a $50 rebate of fees for each dance they supervise.
Signup sheets will be located on the bulletin board inside Pad 2. If you have any questions, or would like to sign up please feel free to send an e-mail. Parents are expected to arrive at the arena at 6:15pm on the night of the dance to assist with setup.read more
